Wolf Creek is a small community located in the very northern portion of Josephine County, Oregon. It is primarily known for being home to the famous Wolf Creek Inn, the oldest continually operated hotel in the state, which during the 1920's and 1930's, attracted more than its fair share of celebrity guests, including President Hayes, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Mary Pickford, Orson Welles, Frederic March and others. Clark Gable and Carole Lombard were also regulars here. Another regular guest was novelist Jack London, who completed his novel "Valley of the Moon" here during August of 1911. Local legend states that London loved this place so much, that even in death, he continues to frequent Wolf Creek Inn. Jack London is said to haunt the second floor of the building. First
